Team Programmer (1 of 5, total interdisciplinary team of 16)

Roles

  • Spearheaded communications to co-lead the programming team by keeping the team producer updated and catching unassigned tasks

  • Wired up all the team animator's gnome motions in Unreal Persona

  • Built the material and Unreal Blueprint logic to create the final throwing mechanic's spline arc cosmetic representation when given any endpoint

  • Prototyped the lob mechanic, letting us learn it needed to work back from a player-given target instead of the prototype's toss-strength meter

Two-day charity game jam over Extra Life 2016 @ twitch.tv/smuguildhall in Unreal Engine 4. Under the jam's theme of "Seriously Silly" we made a local 2-vs-2 multiplayer battle between gnomes to see who mows their lawn fast enough, while also growing back the other team's lawn to hold them back!

This game has actually since gone on to be picked up by a group of Guildhall graduates (with the blessing of our original jam team) taking it all the way to a full, polished release over on Steam!
